9 - I haven't played Gin for a while and when I came back to the game I was listed as inactive for the league. What happened?

If you miss several seasons, you are removed from the league to reduce the negative experience for other players of having players who are not taking part. In case this happens, in order to return to the bottom division, you simply need to play a game to qualify.
